THAME is a charming market town in the county of Oxfordshire, close to the Chiltern Hills and is ideal as a base for visiting both the local area and the historic city of Oxford itself. The attractive town centre has many award winning and unique shops, and is an ideal place for family shopping with a large street market every Tuesday. It is served with ample free parking, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and accommodation that varies from hotels, inns and friendly B&Bs. A cheery and colourful market is held, by ancient Charter, on Tuesdays, including a Farmers’ market every second Tuesday in the month.
Thame is easily accessible from the M40 Junction 7 and 8.
The town is 14 miles east of Oxford, 10 miles south-west of Aylesbury and 47 miles from London. To the west of Thame the A418 joins with the M40 motorway linking London to Birmingham.
In the north eastern direction the A418 from Leighton Buzzard links with the M1 motorway at Aspley Guise and intersects with the A5 trunk road to the north.
To the west of Thame the A418 joins the A40 trunk road. There are also roads from Thame to Princes Risborough A4129, Chinnor B4445 and Bicester B4011.

Parking:
There are 2 main car parks in Thame, In front of Town Hall “ The High Street Car Park” which is only 1 hour car parking.
Or “ The Upper High Street Car Park” which is 3 hours. Alternatively there is also car park at the Cattle Market pay and display max 23 hours.
Note you can not park on Buttermarket but can drive through in case you need to be dropped off (this alley is only for deliveries).
Thame, Oxfordshire is easily accessible by the ‘200 and 280 Arriva’ bus from Oxford city centre, via Headington shops, via Wheatley, via Tiddington Fox to Thame town hall. http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/ Or in 50 minutes by the Chiltern Railways from London Marylebone to Thame Haddenham Parkway. http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk location
The nearest train station is Haddenham & Thame Parkway, Thame Rd, Haddenham, Aylesbury HP17 8EP. This is located just under 3 miles (10 mins) away and is serviced by the 280 bus.
